A wide range of other designs can be found for novelty contact lenses, from the mundane to the extreme. Circuit board contacts give their wearer the appearance of a robot or an android, making them a popular choice for science fiction fans or Halloween parties. Polka-dotted contact lenses give their wearer a diseased or deranged look, while flowers or smiley faces make an immediate visual impact. Of course, novelty contact lenses donÂ’t always go to such extremes; colored contact lenses can come in novelty ranges or even as everyday prescription lenses, allowing anyone to have the eye color of their dreams. Keep in mind that novelty contacts arenÂ’t appropriate for some employers or social occasions, as the more extreme designs tend to unnerve or disturb some people. However, they make for excellent conversation pieces, and the more natural lenses are great for everyday use regardless of the situation or occasion.
